One of my favorite poems is one by the famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas. The name of the poem is Fern Hill. In this poem, Thomas speaks about the wonderful innocence of childhood and mourns the loss of this carefree period of his life.
Childhood is a time when we revel in energy and unbridled enthusiasm for life. We run and jump, we sing and play without a thought about what someone else is thinking.
As we get older that lovely innocence is replaced by a heightened self-awareness. As teens we are self-conscious about everything: how we look, what we say, what we do.
We become super-conscious of all aspects of ourselves and how we are perceived by others.
As adults we love to watch our children play. It brings us joy to see them delighting in play.
Our sense of our own loss of innocence makes us more sensitive to the fleeting nature of that of our children.
Yet, with the loss of innocence and the advance of years comes wisdom and knowledge from experience.
In this article, I share quotes about growing kids on a number of topics related to children growing up. Please join me.
Quotes For Parents Watching Their Children Growing
Rearing children is bittersweet. We celebrate when they reach milestones but we know that the innocence of childhood will not last.
We often wish we could slow things down and keep them little forever.
Of course, no parent really wants that. We are proud when our children grow into mature, independent people who can thrive in the world.
We feel then that we have been successful as parents.
I have five children and have watched them grow into adulthood. It has not always been easy, as any parent will agree, I’m sure.
The precious but hectic early years when you exist on an astonishingly little amount of sleep. The years when your kids are in oodles of activities and you are running them to practices galore.
Then the challenging teen years when your kids so desperately want to be independent adults but begrudgingly still need their parents.
We do our best and we love them every step of the way.

True Quotes About Growing Kids
I had my children fairly close together – five in eight years. With the first, everything was new and I doted on everything he did, every precious move of his fingers and mouth, every delightful coo and giggle.
As I had more kids, life got a lot busier and the time I was able to give to the first-born, I simply didn’t have for the others.
Something I began to cherish was the time in the middle of the night when I would be up with the baby. It would be just the baby and me in a quiet house.
It was a beautiful time when I reveled in the wonder of the infant in my arms. These moments nourished my soul.
There are many truths about childhood, and the list of quotes about children growing up, which follows reflects a variety of thoughts and reflections.
Enjoy.

Inspirational Quotes About Kids’ Growth
Children are inspiring in and of themselves. As someone who has worked with kids for more than thirty years, I know how they can give us energy and positivity about life.
Something I love is when a student I taught as a child comes back to visit me as an adult. It is marvelous to see the person they have become.
My own children give me great inspiration as well. Growing up is not an easy thing to do and as parents we have the responsibility to give our kids all the help we can to make the journey to adulthood successful.
Just don’t smother your kids! Inspire them to be their own human being with the confidence to try new things and make mistakes.
It is, afterall, through our mistakes that we learn.

I tried to rear my kids according to some of her principles. I always thought before I said no. Was this something I really needed to say no to? If it was, I needed to stick to it.
I tried to let my kids make mistakes and make messes and let them know that this was just part of life.
If they spilled something, they cleaned it up, but it wasn’t the end of the world. No need to yell and make a big deal about it.
